Fellows might be interested to read an article by Mike Baxter of Nottingham Trent University which appears in the November issue of the Higher Education Academy Mathematics, Statistics and Operational research (MSOR) publication ‘connections’.
The article is called Student Projects and the London Olympics in 2012: Teaching and Learning through Modelling Sporting Performances and looks at how student interest in final year statistical projects can be stimulated by reference to the forthcoming Olympic Games in London in 2012.
